ABOUT CSF

We are your inside connection to outdoor legislation.

For more than 30 years, the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation has been the voice of America's sportsmen and women in the halls of government.  Our mission is to work with Congress, governors, and state legislatures to protect and advance hunting, angling, recreational shooting, and trapping.

What started as a small group of like-minded members of Congress who were passionate about our sporting traditions and the great outdoors, has turned into one of the largest networks of pro-sportsmen and women who believe in CSF's mission.  With more than 250 members in the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus, nearly 30 Governors in the Governor's Sportsmen Caucus, and over 2,000 state legislators representing 49 states as part of the National Assembly of Sportsmen's Caucuses, hunters and anglers have a voice in the U.S. Congress and in state capitals across the nation.

CSF is governed by a twenty-one-member board of directors that provides financial and administrative oversight, development support and guidance to the organization on a voluntary basis.

Each year, CSF's federal and state policy teams track an average of 5,000 bills and more than 10,000 regulatory proposals related to hunting, angling, recreational shooting, trapping, and other conservation issues.  As a result of the efforts of CSF's dedicated team of policy professionals working through CSF's network of federal and state sportsmen's caucuses, over 500 pro-sportsmen's bills have been signed into law in the last two years alone.

Thanks to a wide variety of partners' support, CSF continues to amplify the voice of America's hunters, anglers, recreational shooters, and trappers by advancing policies that benefit these constituencies, grow the outdoor recreation industry, and continue our proud conservation legacy.
